Introduction

The next bottle in line from Cloud Alchemist was a flavor that I’ve had many times, but rarely has it been juice that’s wildly successful for any vendor. Like some of the other e-juices I’ve reviewed from this vendor, it’s a very long way from bad and is spot on.

Flavor & Taste

When I opened up this bottle of Acer Dulcia and smelled a maple-walnut-apple mix right off the bat, my anticipation level rose a bit further. It’s one of those flavors that has improved by a great amount over the last 18-24 months. Going from the old bitter, acrid, medicinal tasting mess, to the sweet, lush, realistic flavor we often see today. The green apple used by Cloud Alchemist has a very natural quality, worlds away from the Jolly Rancher-ish sour green apple other vendors have attempted to utilize in a blend like this, but it still doesn’t strike me as precisely the proper apple for this application.

It does come across as a Granny Smith variety, but with a vinous overtone that is reminiscent of the McIntosh apple, a local variety commonly used in cider for this precise reason.

The same product and excellence apply to the maple portion of the profile. It’s certainly sweet enough, Rather than the soft, rich flavor of slow cooked sugar, tempered with heavy cream to create the gooey maple & nut that covers the apples sold at any carnival or fair, this comes off as more of a maple or even walnut flavored pretty authentic to the fruit flavor. Like the taste of the apple, that’s not entirely wrong per se, but it’s exactly correct, and it’s definitely what I look for in a  maple/walnut, apple premium ejuice.

The maple presents itself on the inhale before being met by that huge shot of apple tone right at the top of the exhale. The crisp suggestion of apple flavor presents on the exhale, followed by a very long drawn out finish where, for a very brief moment, the juice shows precisely as it should, as a proper fresh apple.

All of the juices I’ve tasted from Cloud Alchemist so far have shared the same clean base liquids while possessing a sense of balance and fluidity. These are well-crafted liquids made from quality ingredients.

Device Longevity

I gave the Duke a rest and ran this through both the TOBH at .35 and the Helios at a cooler .72. Neither caused any sort of heat induced flavor degradation. On a more standard rig,(ProVari/510 dripper) I found the sweet spot at a warm 10.4w or 5.1v on a 2.5 dripping atomizer.

Throat hit and Vapor production

When you take the first hit, it wows the back of your throat. It then gives a very fresh finish. This produced the same flavor I got from the mech/RBA rig as well as a good throat hit along with a respectable cloud of vapor.

Final verdict

I really enjoyed the apple fruit flavor. While Maple and Walnut are two flavors that seem to go hand in hand. This particular version has the potential to come off sticky and sweet. Thanks to an additional tart sour note, (that I believe to be green apple) the profile as a whole is very well balanced and overall, very tasty. It’s a great way to get that crispy fresh apple taste without the candy effects. Check out this premium e-liquid!
